How to I search for items?
You have two searching options:
1. Use the search engine on the FTS home page.
The search engine uses keywords to locate appropriate materials from the collection and the Internet. Just type in your keywords and the engine will retrieve relevant results. Be as specific as possible! The FTS search engine accepts both English and French queries. FTS collection items are displayed before other results in blue.

2. Use the index options from the menu bars.
FTS offers four different indexes for browsing. Works are organized alphabetically by:
Index browsing is best if you know the author or title of the text. In addition, the genre and level of difficulty indexes allow you to choose more specific works for your learning needs than the search engine allows.
How are search engine results displayed?
The FTS search engine retrieves both collection items and relevant texts from the Internet. To distinguish FTS items from general Web items, the search engine uses promotions. Promotions are displayed in blue before the general search results.

Why can't I find the item?
You may not be able to find an item for the following reasons:
- Your search query was not specific enough.
Try to enter as much information as possible when searching. If you know specific authors or titles, use quotation marks to retrieve better results or try the four indexes. For further advice on Google custom search engines, click here.
- The item is not part of the FTS collection.
At this time, FTS only has 76 items in its collection. You may use the search engine to retrieve items from the Internet that may meet your needs.
